----Welcome to Mosh's Hole In the Internet----

How do I navigate this site?

Well, I think it's pretty obvious, but maybe I'm just bad at web design. There's a navigation bar at the top of the site that you can use to move around, and if you ever want to come back here, you can just hit the big Mosh logo. You can also scroll down and find my blog/update posts.

Who's Mosh?

I'm Mosh. I'm an eighteen year old from the Eastern United States. Some of my hobbies include: making glitch art, datamoshing, web development, other computer stuff, and sitting at home all day being a loser.

What is this website?

This is a website that I threw up to ramble about things and pretend that it's somehow productive, as well as share interesting things I find on the internet. I'm also very passionate about different forms of creative expression and philosophy, so expect some of that to be here.

Will you please make this site look better?? It's hurting my eyes.

The site is still a work in progress, but I doubt it will ever look good. It's not meant to look good, it's meant to share information.

How can I contact you?

If you have any suggestions for the site or wish to contact me, you can message me on discord @ Mosh#4504.

A site long forgotten. Maybe I'll come back to it soon and add some more themes, it's only fair to the original, but for now you can find me at my new site, which has once again changed locations to

Burnout & Boredom

I made it a week, and I'm already bored. Over the past couple of days, I've just felt kind of worn out; I've felt tired pretty much 24/7, I've had no motivation to improve upon my site, and it feels like time has sped up to about 10 times the normal speed. I've continued to update the site because I feel like I have to do at least a little bit of work on it everyday, but most of my updates have just been simple design changes. I think a major issue that's been weighing down my motivation is that I turn 18 tomorrow, and I was kind of hoping that I would be able to put together a somewhat decent site by now. I plan on starting a career in web development after I graduate, but as of right now, it's still looking like it's gonna be a while before that's gonna happen (as you can tell by the monstrocity you see before you). I know that I still have plenty of time in my life to learn and improve my skills, but I'm still behind where I want to be, which is all that really matters to me. I've already wasted so much time, and as the days go on, I waste more and more. There's people out there that have million dollar companies before they're my age. That could have been me if I had used my time correctly. And then, when I think about how much time I've wasted, I mope around feeling depressed that I wasted so much time and, in turn, waste even more time. It's just an endless cycle that I can clearly see I'm stuck in, yet I don't make any effort to get out of it. I know that if I just started learning Javascript and started working on projects, I could easily have a job by the time I'm 19. The only issue is motivation, I have no idea where my motivation is going. I don't have games as a distraction any more, I haven't played anything in probably a month. I know it's not Youtube, there's literally nothing on there that makes me want to sit there and watch it for hours (even though I do). I don't know why I can't just sit down and get the shit done; it's harder to find ways to procrastinate than it is to just do it. I think my issue is that I just need to write more; this is the only form of creativity/brain dumping that I can do that doesn't take much time. A bonus to it is that I also don't have to ever see it again, because I can't be bothered to read anything this long. That's one of the main issues that I find with any form of art that I do; I can tell that it's complete shit, and then I lose all motivation to do it because I know that I'm complete shit at it. But when I write, I can just braindump and then if there's any parts that don't make sense or don't flow together, I can just claim that it's my writing style. Big brain gang.

Creativity in Web Design

Think of the last 10 non-neocities sites that you've been to. Have any of them had a background image? Have any of them really stood out in any way creatively? I'm gonna guess you said no to those (though I'm probably wrong, as I usually am). That's the issue with the web today, it's not creative. Take w3schools for example, it's literally a site made to teach you about web development and programming, yet it's probably the most boring site I've ever seen. Not to mention the countless other sites with no personality. Even people's personal sites are being plagued by this pandemic, mostly because they use shitty website builders like wix instead of learning to code it themselves. What's so bad about learning how to do something yourself, without the help of some generic website template? It's not even like web dev is hard, all you really need is a text editor, a browser, and a couple hours of your time. Not only do you get the creative freedom to create something that is 100% your own, but you also don't have to fork out the money to pay for some shitty template site. It's not like people are using these templates to create incredibly complicated sites anyways, they're usually just making some shitty black text on white background landing page. But Neocities is different, when you go to just about any site on Neocities, you can see personality in the site. It isn't just some cookie cutter, copy-pasted website, it's something that someone put time and effort into making their own. That's not something that you get to see very often nowadays when you're browsing the web, and I think that's why I like the idea of Neocities so much. You have a free space to create something of your own, and you have a way to share it with other people that can appreciate it the same as you. Here's a few buttons to some sites I find interesting:
